Job Description

Travel Correctional Nurse

Travel Correctional Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to inmates in correctional facilities for an 8-week assignment in or near Houston, Texas. The role involves assessments, treatment planning, medication administration, and collaboration with correctional staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive correctional nursing care to inmates, including assessments, treatment plans, and medication administration.
  • Collaborate with correctional staff to ensure facility protocols and safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of inmate health records and care activities.
  • Execute emergency response procedures promptly when high-risk situations arise within the facility.
  • Educate inmates on health management, medication adherence, and disease prevention strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license or equivalent.
  • CPR, BLS, and First Aid certifications.
  • Minimum of 2 years correctional or behavioral health nursing experience.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High adaptability.
  • Physical capability to manage correctional environments.
