The Security Manager leads the Security Department and is responsible for the safety and security of guests, employees, assets, facilities, and operations. The position oversees security operations, investigations, emergency response, regulatory compliance, staffing, training, and security procedures.

  • Supervise, coach, and manage Security staff, including scheduling, training, performance, and accountability.
  • Develop and maintain effective Security policies, procedures, post orders, and operating standards.
  • Manage staffing and labor costs while maintaining appropriate security coverage.
  • Identify security risks and implement solutions to improve operations and protect company assets.
  • Oversee security operations for live racing, special events, concerts, festivals, rodeos, and other large events.
  • Ensure Security provides professional, responsive, and customer-focused service.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support safe and efficient property operations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of security, employee, guest, investigative, and company information.
Emergency Management
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Coordinate Security response to medical emergencies, fire, severe weather, evacuations, active threats, missing persons, and other incidents.
  • Lead or coordinate major incident response and ensure proper notification and documentation.
  • Conduct or support drills, exercises, and after-action reviews.
Investigations & Asset Protection
  • Conduct and supervise investigations involving theft, loss, misconduct, property damage, policy violations, and other incidents.
  • Ensure accurate incident reports and appropriate preservation of evidence, including video and documentation.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement when criminal or regulatory matters require outside involvement.
  • Analyze incident trends and recommend preventive measures.
Regulatory & Agency Relations
  • Serve as a liaison with gaming and racing regulators, law enforcement, fire officials, EMS, and other agencies.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Promptly report compliance or legal concerns to Executive Management/General Manager.
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits, investigations, and requests for information.
Security Technology
  • Oversee the effective use of CCTV/video surveillance, access control, alarms, radios, and security reporting systems.
  • Work with IT, Facilities, vendors, and other departments to resolve security technology issues.
  • Ensure security systems support daily operations, investigations, and emergency response.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Assist with the department budget and monitor labor, overtime, and operating expenses.
  • Maintain accurate schedules, reports, training records, investigations, and other required documentation.
  • Use security and operational data to identify trends and improve performance.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent; or five (5) years of Casino Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two (2) years of leadership experience highly preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Driver's License and operate company vehicles as needed.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have the ability to remain calm in emergency or stressful situations.
